Extension of Filing Due Date due to intermittent disruptions in ACRA Bizfile+ Portal.
Extension of Filing Due Date due to intermittent disruptions in ACRA Bizfile+ Portal.
For the past few weeks, Bizfile+ users experienced a slow and unresponsive system while trying to file the transactions with ACRA. This has caused inconvenience and disruptions to corporate service provider (CSP) and business owners. Many are facing huge amount of stress, as there are several compliance filings that are due in September. Such as updating the Register of Registerable Controllers (RORC), filing the Annual Return and other time sensitive lodgment.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the Bizfile system has experienced technical issues. In May 2015, similar incident has also caused disruption to the users. As the filing due dates are drawing closer, concerned users tried to contact ACRA via Facebook, email and calls, in hoping that they will provide a solution.
Thankfully, on 15 September 2020, ACRA released an update to assure all users that there will be an extension of the filing due date and no imposition of penalties.
Information on the Extension for Filing
Companies that have annual statutory filings such as Annual Returns with the filing due dates from 8 September 2020 to 31 October 2020 will have up to 30 Nov 2020 to file, with no late filing penalties imposed.
For all other ad hoc statutory filings such as change in company information and personal particulars of company officers etc with due dates from 8 Sep 2020 onwards will have up to 30 Nov 2020 to file, with no late filing penalties imposed.
ACRA has suspended the requirement to update the Register of Registrable Controllers (RORC) until December 2020. Companies and Limited Liability Partnerships will need to file the RORC with ACRA by 31 March 2021. The link to submit the RORC has also been removed. ACRA will provide advance notice when this transaction has resumed on BizFile+.
For incorporation of company or other time-sensitive transaction, users can contact ACRA helpdesk at 6248 6028 for assistance. The operating hours for ACRA helpdesk have also extended from 6pm to 8pm on weekdays to assist any queries.
ACRA thanks all users for the patience and understanding while they working urgently to resolve the issues.
